Primary gastrointestinal malignancies in childhood are very rare, nethertheless beyond the primary hepatic tumors colorectal cancer is the second malignancy of digestive system in children. There are predisposi-tions for the developement of colon cancer in individuals with hereditary gatrointestinal tract polyposis syndromes. Polyps of the gastrointestinal tract in the course of hereditary polyposis syndromes are observed in children also. Genetic testing and endoscopic procedures enable early detection of affected individuals and prophylaxis of cancer development. In some polyposis syndromes prevention should include children of the families with the known mutations.
