An inadvertent lead placement in the left ventricle is rarely and late reported complication of
permanent heart stimulation. Malposition of pacing lead
in the left ventricle is highly associated with thromboembolic complications. The recommended
treatment is early lead removal or in case of lack of that option permanent anticoagulation.
Three cases of malposition of pacing lead with specific analysis of diagnostic value of ECG
tracings, chest X ray
and echocardiograms are presented.
