Nutritional management in children with chronić cholestasis is an important part of the therapy as malnutrition often accompanies the disease. Especially lipids seem to play an important role in nutrition - as a source of energy and polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) which are essential for the growth and development in the early life. Ouantity and quality of fat is discussed in this review. Some controversies concerning use of MCT and PUFA supplementation are also analised. Recommendations of lipid soluble vitamin supplementation are described.
